An Ultimus Modus, which means "Last Method" in Google Translate Latin, (I actually used several websites to confirm) is the ability for either the Hero of Ideals or Hero of Truth to take on the abilities of their dragon. They don't merge, per se, because the dragons are still there and can fight alongside their hero. The purpose of Ultimum Modus is to allow the heroes to fight one on one, which was a custom in ancient times.

She can make her lightning widespread, such as in a body of water, but it’s much more powerful when condensed into a large thunderbolt.
Some of the disadvantages are that she can’t hit the same spot twice, it’s harder to control, and the lightning is fleeting. She eventually learns to overcome the problem of striking twice in the same spot and finds a way to make the lightning last longer. Combining her lightning with large bodies of water, such as a Surf attack, is useful against N in the battle because it puts out his fire and hurts him at the same time.
